Michael Whitehead | Director and Head Coach  – West Coast Eagles Field Hockey Club

In the fall of 2015, Michael Whitehead founded the West Coast Eagles Field Hockey Club to further the development of hockey for girls and boys.

In 2013, he started as Chaminade College Preparatory High School‘s Head Varsity and J.V. Field Hockey coach.

Michael Whitehead played hockey from 1984 to 2003, and was on the National Club Championship Bulldogs (Thousand Oaks, Calif.) DI team in 1990 and 1991.

Whitehead has held a USA Field Hockey Level 2 Coaching Certification since 2008 and is a Level 1 Coaching Instructor for USA Field Hockey.

He’s been part of the USA Men’s Junior High Performance coaching staff since 2004.  Whitehead has attended three Junior Pan American Games with the U-21 USMNT, as both manager and performance analyst. In 2009, he managed the U-21 USMNT at the Junior World Cup in Singapore, Malaysia.   He also coached, and assisted as a performance analyst, for the Ventura County Red Devils from 2005-2015.

A native of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Whitehead was a business development sales professional for more than 20 years. In 2013 he left that profession to become a full-time hockey coach.
